Corsage

A lady’s buttonhole may also be referred to as corsage. Traditionally, they would be worn on the right, facing downwards. When dancing a man would put his right arm round the lady’s waist and the lady her left hand on his shoulder, this meant there was less risk of either’s flowers getting squashed!
